It seems like forever ago that the Magic were the number one seed in the East.
Back then, the team was certainly turning a lot of heads with their seemingly elite level of basketball. Unfortunately, as things always do, Orlando got brought back down reality before long, and their season took a turn for the worst.
Now, they're looking at a 15-35 record... the second-worst in the league.
And in light of all the stink, there might be a few changes on the way. According to Michael Scotto of The Athletic, the Magic have been "quietly" gauging the trade market for former Arizona University big-man, Aaron Gordon.
Averaging over 18 and 8 so far this season, Gordon has been one of the few bright spots for the team this year. And considering he's only 22 years-old, this kid is probably one of the Magic's most valuable players. Still, it's hard not to imagine (especially in their current state), that Orlando wouldn't at least consider a trade for AG if they thought they could get a nice return for him.
While no further details have been released in regards to potential packages, the fact that the Magic are even considering this must indicate the market is pretty high for Gordon.
The pressure is officially on. For the Magic, they need to get this right if they wish to finally turn things around. Sure, they haven't proved reliable on that front in quite some time, but there's a first time for everything, right?
