Report: Knicks Want To Offer Cavs Insane Package For Kyrie Irving

In case you were living underneath a rock last night, Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving has requested the front office to trade him, per Brian Windhorst.

Irving later outlined four teams he wishes to be traded to. One of those teams included the most dysfunctional franchises in the NBA, the New York Knicks.

What a coincidence huh? Carmelo Anthony has been trying to get out of NY for months now, stating he'd waive his No-Trade Clause if he was traded the Cleveland, and now Kyrie has come out and said he wouldn't mind being traded to New York.

A deal is definitely on the table it seems, but just how badly will the Knicks pursue the All-Star point guard?

According to ESPN's Ian Begley, New York would be willing to send over Anthony as well as a first-round pick just to get Kyrie in a Knicks' jersey.

If this report is indeed true, both teams would be far better off. Carmelo would get out of New York and would be able to team up with his friend LeBron James, and Kyrie would have a homecoming of sorts, as he was a high school basketball sensation in New Jersey.

Not to mention the Cavs would also own a New York first round pick, and it's not like the Knicks are in the best position to win right now, is it?
