It's only a matter of time now.
The New York Knicks and NBA Star Carmelo Anthony haven't had the smoothest of relationships lately. Even after Phil Jackson left, the organization and the star have had a rocky relationship. With all of that, it was no surprise when we found out that the Knicks were (and still are) aggressively trying to trade Carmelo.
So far, nothing has proved successful. But according to a report by Ian Begley, a deal could be happening very soon. The report claims that Anthony feels "confident" that deal will get done between Houston and New York.
For a guy that's clearly stated that he wants to be in New York City, that's a pretty telling statement. While no official trade has been announced, it seems that the moment we've all been waiting for could happen at any moment.
Carmelo Anthony will probably ask for a trade, so Houston Rockets can send Ryan Anderson, Troy Williams and the future 2nd round pick. That should be enough for Carmelo because everyone knows he will change his destination and he already made a statement that he wants to play for a contender.
Finally, Carmelo will get a chance to earn his ring, alongside CP3 and James Harden. Surely a trio like that could make any team sweat.
It's time to prepare ourselves, this NBA offseason isn'y quite over yet. The biggest splash may have yet to come.
