NBA Trade Rumors: Top 5 Best Destinations For Aaron Gordon

NBA Trade Rumors: Top 5 Best Destinations For Aaron Gordon

Aaron Gordon was starting to look like a major bust following his first couple of campaigns in the Association, but after putting a lot of work during the offseason and going back to playing the power forward spot, his career has finally taken off.

Gordon has put season averages of 18.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 dimes per game on 44% from the floor, and his shot is finally falling after struggling to be a consistent scorer earlier in his career with the Magic.

Nonetheless, Orlando is in no position to compete whatsoever and they won’t be on the foreseeable future, so Gordon is pretty much wasting his talent with this team like Shaq, McGrady, Hardaway and Howard also did back then.

So, apparently the team is willing to listen to offers for the young power forward, and even though a trade may not be imminent, it feels like he may finally leave one of the worst teams in the NBA. Today, we’re going to let you know about the top 5 destinations for him

Portland Trail Blazers

Let’s face facts for a second here. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are incredibly talented players, but they’re never going to be able to single-handedly lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a Championship, at least for the time being.

Still, they’re both pretty young and if you add Aaron Gordon into the mix, this team could be a huge threat for years. For that matter, the Blazers could offer Orlando a 1st and a 2nd round pick as well as Al-Farouq Aminu.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to be extremely aggressive as we head towards the trade deadline, with the franchise desperate to get the ship back in track and become a legit threat in the Eastern Conference once again.

Also, with both Isaiah Thomas and LeBron James likely to leave the team at the end of the campaign, Gordon could be a major asset for them going forward as their new franchise player. For this trade to work, they’d have to send Channing Frye and the Brooklyn Nets pick to the Magic.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are currently stacked with the addition of Greg Monroe and they’re also reportedly going to try and get Tyreke Evans, so they could get even scarier if somehow Danny Ainge also manages to land Aaron Gordon with his crafty trade moves.

Gordon could lead the way off the bench for Boston or even start next to Horford, and he’d definitely be thrilled with the idea of finally playing in a huge market like the Celtics. In order to land him, they’d have to part ways with at least one 1st round pick and Marcus Smart.

Charlotte Hornets

Aaron Gordon would definitely hate this trade, as he’d be playing on a smaller market and on a very lousy team anyways, but Charlotte would be thrilled with finally landing top tier talent to play beside their All-Star point guard.

Also, they’ve been trying to move Nicolas Batum for a while now, so they could send the veteran swingman to the Magic alongside Marvin Williams in order to get a deal done for Gordon, although this possibility seems unlikely.

Brooklyn Nets

Somehow, the Brooklyn Nets managed to pair D’Angelo Russell and Jahlil Okafor, a couple of the most hyped prospects the league has seen in a while, so putting Aaron Gordon altogether may actually be something quite promising for the team’s future if they manage to keep Jah.

Sadly for them, the only way to land Gordon would be to part ways with one of their most productive players in Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as well as Joe Harris, but they’d definitely develop an extremely talented young core with Russell, Okafor and Gordon and maybe even able to make a playoffs run the next season.
