The nine-time All-Star point guard has now reached the age of 31 years old. We've seen the veteran guard be the Los Angeles Clippers floor general for several years now with little success and after they lost against the Utah Jazz, if he wants to win an NBA championship maybe he could sign with a better team.

Paul has recently opted out of his contract with the Clippers, so there is a strong possibility we could see CP3 sign elsewhere in the offseason, especially since Blake Griffin has decided to opt out of his contract as well. Below is a list of three of the top destinations for Paul:

San Antonio Spurs (Contender)

Already major title contenders, the Spurs boast a very strong squad. The addition of Chris Paul to the roster though would improve the side greatly as Tony Parker is not the player he once used to be. Parker currently averages 10.1 ppg and 4.5 apg while Paul averaged 18.1 ppg, 9.2 apg and 5 rpg during the 2016-2017 NBA regular season.

Paul would offer San Antonio a more reliable scoring outlet at the point guard spot while being more creative with the ball than Parker currently is. A ‘Big 3’ Of Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge is mouth-watering to think about and it’s a real possibility that we could see this become a reality during the offseason.

New York Knicks (1% Chance)

The next possible destination for CP3 is New York. The franchise is struggling at the moment after a ‘failed’ season where we saw no real signs of improvement from the Knicks, even after the ‘Superteam’ had formed. Derrick Rose is a free agent now and even though he had a good season with NY, his injury problems will probably mean he will sign elsewhere during the summer.

Paul could sign with the Knicks but only on the conditions that the young power forward - Kristaps Porzingis stays and that Paul’s close friend - Carmelo Anthony stays with the franchise, after much speculation that he will be traded elsewhere in the Summer. New York is unlikely for Paul but it is a possibility if the Knicks play their cards right.

New Orleans Pelicans (Contender)

The last landing spot for Chris Paul that we’re going to talk about in this article is the New Orleans Pelicans. Having already spent several years in the past playing for the New Orleans Hornets, Paul is a fan favorite and would be welcomed with open arms by the organization and its fans. After missing out on the Playoffs this year, the Pelicans are desperate to get their newly formed Frontcourt of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis into postseason action.

The addition of Paul to the squad would help the Pelicans dominate in the Western Conference and would ensure that they would compete for the top seeds in the West. A trio of Chris Paul, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins would control any game and would turn the Pelicans into a team that everyone would fear to go up against.

There’s our Top 3 destinations for Chris Paul for when the offseason comes. It seems the Clippers time is coming to an end so don’t be surprised to see the All-Star point guard leave Los Angeles once the Playoffs are over.
