NBA Trade Rumors: Nerlens Noel to Portland Trail Blazers?

Nerlens Noel didn't play a game this season (because of injury) and at this moment he is behind Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid.

The Sixers have the qualifying offer for Nerlens Noel after this season, and he will probably ask a max deal, although they already have Okafor and Embiid.

Noel, via Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly:

“I don’t think the roster’s changed,” Noel said Thursday. “So, I don’t think the roster’s changed.”

Noel didn’t seem concerned that he wouldn’t fit back in with the team after being away for the start of the season. He envisions his role as simply “being Nerlens Noel.” What exactly that will entail will unfold this season.

“I put myself in a different place with all these things,” Noel said. “Do what you can control. That’s what I give power to, is what I can really control. I think right now I’m in a good place mentally, I think my body feels great and I just want to get back to playing basketball and let things take care of themselves.”

Last season he averaged 11.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 29.3 minutes per game. Noel is an interesting prospect, he is a lengthy big man who can run the floor and uses his athletic ability to finish around the rim.

According to basketball reporter Sam Amico, several teams, including Portland Trail Blazers, have recently held discussions with the Sixers about Nerlens Noel.

Portland have only 10-10 and they aren't good like they were last season. Damian Lillard needs help and maybe Nerlens Noel could help them because he is a great defender and he can finish after pick and roll with Lillard.

Other teams that might have interest in Noel may include Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets.
