NBA Trade Rumors: Jahlil Okafor to the Chicago Bulls?

Usually when we hear talks about a center being traded out of Philly the name most associated with the trade talks is Nerlens Noel. Not in this case though as the latest talks to emerge from Philadelphia is about the prospect of Jahlil Okafor moving to the ‘Windy City’.

Reports have emerged that the Bulls have inquired about the availability of the former 3rd pick in the NBA Draft (2015 Draft class).

Things in Philly have been going excellent lately and in the month of January, we seen the 76ers go 10W-5L for the month, doing better than the Cavaliers (8W-8L record for January) to start off 2017.

The 76ers still have 3 starting caliber centers on the team, something that is a problem for them as Embiid is currently on a minutes restriction and when he comes off that there will be even less minutes available at the center spot soon.

The 76ers need to trade away one of their centers soon and bring in another young talent like a guard or a Draft pick. It was thought that Nerlens Noel would be the center who would leave Philly but latest reports suggest that Jahlil Okafor could be the one to leave Philly.

Currently, Okafor is averaging 11.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg in an average of 23.1 mpg. If Okafor was to go to Chicago though we would see him getting more game time and therefore his numbers would go up, with him potentially being involved in a lot of low-post gameplay if he were to join Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls have inquired about a trade for Jahlil Okafor. We haven’t heard who the Bulls would offer in exchange for Okafor though. Maybe Michael Carter-Williams could attract the 76ers to pursue a deal as he could be a good fit with Philly. Another prospect could be recent draft pick, Denzel Valentine. Valentine can play the shooting guard spot or else play at the small forward position.

With the trade deadline coming closer and closer, the Bulls will try to complete the deal as soon as possible but who would they let leave Chicago in return?
