Fadeaway World

Considered the best passer in the world, Milos Teodosic is not to be taken for granted. Currently 30 years old, Teodosic has had major success playing in Europe winning the Euroleague Championship in 2016, being named the Euroleague MVP in 2010 and also being named to the Euroleague First team three times in his career - 2010, 2015 and 2016.

Teodosic has been sought after many times during his career to come and play in the NBA but until now, it seems to never have been ‘right’ for him. That is until now though as Teodosic’s contract with his current club - CSKA Moscow, comes to an end during the Summer and many experts say a move to the ‘States’ is on the cards for the veteran point guard.

Below is a list of the Top 3 NBA destinations for Milos Teodosic during the offseason.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are the worst team in the NBA at the present time. With a record of 20W-62L for the 2016-2017 regular season, Brooklyn have the highest chance of getting the top pick in this years NBA Draft. The bad news? That pick belongs to the Boston Celtics who finished first overall in the Eastern Conference this year.

ESPN analyst Fran Franchilla said about Teodosic:

“At his age, his stature, he’s going to look for a fit where someone gives him the ball, looks past his deficiencies and lets him play as what he is: one of the premier pick-and-roll players in world,” Fraschilla said. “I could see him in Kenny’s system. [Atkinson] understands the Euro game, pacing, spacing.

“Offensively, he’s the best passer in the world, from a purely offensive standpoint. Chris Paul is a Hall of Famer, but as far as a pure passer, [Teodosic] might be the most creative passer in the world today. Now, he will not guard a chair, but he’s a brilliant offensive player and an ultra-competitor.”

Things just don’t look good for the Nets at the moment but there is one thing that could help them out. Teodosic is reported to be very close with the Nets team owner - Mikhail Prokhorov, who also used to be the owner of CSKA Moscow. This could really attract Teodosic to Brooklyn where he would be a key role in getting the Nets to become a Playoff contender in the East.

San Antonio Spurs

Tony Parker seems to be slowing down on the court now as age is catching up to him. At 34 years old, people seem to think that Parker is not fit to run the floor for the Spurs anymore. Teodosic would be an ideal replacement for Tony Parker and it’s a real possibility we could see him go to San Antonio in the Summer.

Considered ‘the best International player not in the NBA’ the Spurs would be happy to sign Milos to a multi-year contract. With all his potential, the Spurs would be a suitable team for Teodosic as he would be ‘learning from the best’. Expect to see San Antonio try to lure Teodosic to their side during the offseason.

New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans have one of the best Frontcourts in the League at the moment and the addition of Teodosic and his superb passing skills to the squad could really help boost the Pelicans into Playoff contention in the tough Western Conference.

Teodosic averaged 16.3 ppg and 7.1 apg during this year’s EuroLeague season. If he could bring numbers like this to New Orleans, Pelicans fans would be delighted and he would be an immediate fan favorite. There’s a possibility we could see Milos playing in New Orleans next season.
