The era of “Lob City” is over in Los Angeles.

Adrian Wojnarowski of, The Vertical reported early Wednesday morning that the Clippers would be sending former All-Star Chris Paul to Houston.

After Paul agreed to opt-in to his contract, the two teams agreed on a deal that will see Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams and, a 2018 first-round pick heading to the Clippers. Chris Paul was reportedly interested in signing with the Rockets if he opted out of his contract, however, because he chose to opt-in the Clippers will now get a hefty return.

For Houston, adding Chris Paul to the mix may be just what the team needs to beat the Golden State Warriors. According to multiple reports, Paul and 2017 MVP Finalist, James Harden were “determined” to play together. The Rockets now have quite possibly the best backcourt in the NBA. This is likely the first domino to fall for Los Angeles. With free agency right around the corner, the bidding war for Blake Griffin is going to be huge. So much so, that the Clippers may find themselves unable to sign the Oklahoma native.

Lastly, the Rockets now have two All-Star guards who both average 18 or more points and 9 or more assists per game.

The 2017-2018 Houston Rockets are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
