Brian Scalabrine's comments about Klay Thompson created a real buzz about his future and possible trade destinations.

On Wednesday, Warriors GM Bob Myers was asked about what transpired.

"I think the hard thing is in this day and age of media, what I'd love to see, is if you're gonna say something like that, or for example write something like that ... and I know Scalabrine, I know him. I represented him. Just call me," Myers said on 95.7 The Game. "Call me and say, 'Hey man. I saw this. I'm gonna go on the radio. Is it true?' And then it's over.

"I wish there was a little bit more discipline because you know what it causes -- I gotta talk to Klay Thompson. I gotta talk to his agent. And I get it, it's part of the job. And there are times where rumors have weight to them and meaning, but I think it requires a little bit more diligence then just throwing stuff out there.

"It does make for good talk radio and people picked up on it and then you get all these debates. If you look at where he got it, and I think people then dug a little deeper, there's lessons to be learned.

"We're not trading Klay, that's the short answer. I don't know what else you want to talk about."

Did Myers reach out to Klay to tell him what's going on?

"I told Klay, I called him and I said -- Klay doesn't listen to anything. He doesn't even know who we play most of the game (laughing) -- he's not a guy that's reading everything ... he hadn't even seen it. Then I talked to his agent ... the media is very, very powerful. And we're in a very public business.

"And I don't want to sit here and say every trade rumor is wrong because sometimes the media is right. But I think everybody would be better off if we all kind of looked a little closer at things before we said 'em. But that's me. That makes my life easier but I don't think people really care."
