For at least the last year, Carmelo Anthony has been the topic of countless trade rumors. Since Phil Jackson's arrival several seasons ago, the relationship between Melo and the Knicks organization has plummetted to dangerously low levels.
After everything that's transpired, it seems neither side can stand each other anymore. And according to Knicks president Steve Mills, the New York star may not even be a part of their future.
In a list of names Steve Mills included as part of the future of the franchise, he named Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Willy Hernangomez and Frank Ntilikina.
The noticeable name not listed was Carmelo Anthony, who has been a huge part of the organization over the last few years. It's no secret that Mills and Melo have not gotten along smoothly over the years. And it seems like he has already made plans without Anthony in it.
It is not yet known if Carmelo will remain a Knick through this upcoming season. But as of now, neither side has been able to agree on a potential trade deal.
This relationship is irrepairable, unfixable, and it's inevitable ending will not be a smooth one. Are Mills comments a sign of things to come?
