The Portland Trail Blazers have to be one of the most forward-thinking teams when it comes to social media.
The social media guys over in Oregon are always taking jabs at opposing teams throughout the season over Twitter, so much so, in fact, the league had to ask them to actually tone it down a notch or two for some reason. And after the Blazers most recent win over the Oklahoma City Thunder at home, the social media crew lived up to expectations.
Portland beat out OKC 103-99 after a very peculiar game which saw one-third of the Thunder's big three in the form of Carmelo Anthony get ejected for a seemingly innocent and-1 layup.
The refs decided that Anthony's elbow to Jursuf Nurkic's face after going up for a layup was worthy of a flagrant 2 foul, and Melo was promptly escorted out of the building, which later led to OKC's demise, as Anthony had put up 15 points and 6 rebounds before leaving the game.
Regardless of how you think about the call, the Blazers' Twitter account took the opportunity to use the win and Anthony's ejection as fodder for their latest social media roast.
The big three of Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, and Jursuf Nurkic all played extremely well to lead Portland to their fifth win of the season, but the shot lies in those quotation marks around "big three" and noting down Carmelo's flagrant as a worthwhile stat.
Obviously, a tweet like this is all in good fun, but it's always hilarious to see that NBA teams still like to poke fun at one another when the opportunity arises.
