If anything indicates what the season ahead for the Chicago Bulls will be like, it’s the fight that happened in their own locker room.
Per ESPN, the story starts off inocent enough before it takes a physical turn.
According to Woj, the teammates had been talking trash to one another in practice, going back and forth with each other before those exchanges grew into somehing more violent, sources revealed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Mirotic “charged” at Portis two times before Portis reportedly threw a punch and connected with Mirotic's face. Mirotic dropped to the floor and stayed there for several minutes before eventually getting up.
He was taken to the hospital and released sometime on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the Bulls announced that surgery is likely. The timetable for his return has not been announced. Furthermore, both the Bulls and the NBA are considering taking disciplinary action against the two teammates, but it’s not sure exactly what that would entail.
Regardless of what happens next, it seems the Bulls couldn’t be any lower right now. With front office issues, lack of talent on the roster, and now infighting in the locker room, things have certainly hit rock bottom for the once glorious franchise.
The question now becomes whether these two players can ever share the locker room again.
