The Bulls Showcase Their Stupidity With Unreal Decision Regarding Portis Vs. Mirotic Fight

When it comes to incompetent NBA franchises, a team who won 6 titles in 8 years in the 1990's isn't a team that would spring to the front of your mind, would it?

Well, the Chicago Bulls have somehow found a way to do just that.

After the fight between Bulls' teammates Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic hit the news, many were shocked at how a team could be so dysfunctional, even after the disaster that was the Rondo, Wade and Butler experiment. Portis had literally broken bones in the face of Mirotic and left him concussed so badly he had to be taken to hospital and sidelined him 'indefinitely' from Bulls' games due to his injuries. Pretty nasty stuff.

Understandably, after such a violent encounter with each other, there was no one the two could co-exist as teammates again. The Bulls had to make a decision. Either get rid of the confrontational player that knocked out a teammate at practice, or move on from the victim of the ordeal.

Even after all the wrong decisions Gar Foreman and John Paxson have made in the past for the Chicago franchise, surely they couldn't get something so obvious wrong, right?

Bulls' fans have come to expect this sort of stuff from their beloved team, but even the most die-hard of supporters have to be questioning the motives behind such a move.

Not only have they indirectly sided with the perpetrator in all of this, they actively rewarded him with picking up the team option on his contract! If this isn't the low blow after the punch to the face for Mirotic, I don't know what is.

Chicago has made their choice, and now they have to live with the consequences. Mirotic has barely any trade value because teams will know the Bulls just want to get rid of him, so they're going to be forced to give him up for straight peanuts, as well as holding on to a player who creates conflict in the locker room.

If it wasn't for Lauri Markkanen, Chicago would be in a very dark place right now.
