According to ESPN sources, the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets are working on a big deal. The reported trade would see Suns point guard, Eric Bledsoe being sent to Denver in exchange for Emmanuel Mudiay as well as, Denver’s 13th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Currently, the conversation between the two teams is described as “fluid.”
For Denver, their desire to upgrade at the point guard position is understandable considering Mudiay’s lackluster play just one season ago. The Nuggets are v as a team that could be at least one move away from making the postseason. A young, high caliber point guard such as Eric Bledsoe could be just what Denver need. Not every day does a 21 point per game player pop up on the trading block.
As for Phoenix, this deal seems like a bit of a head scratcher. There is no guarantee that Mudiay will have a bounce back year however, the Suns may be willing to take a gamble on him. The inclusion of the 13th overall pick makes things more intriguing. Phoenix could possibly use the pick to select another player for their ongoing rebuild or, they could package Denver’s pick in a later trade. Phoenix has reportedly trying to acquire an already established star all week and acquiring another draft pick may help them achieve that goal.
