Over recent years, teams and reporters alike have been using social media -- especially Twitter -- to take light-hearted jabs at teams they may be facing that night, and it's not uncommon to see franchise's social media teams having a bit of back and forth banter after a game. What makes it even better, however, is when a relatively quiet team, such as the San Antonio Spurs, are the ones doing the trash-talking.
To be fair, the Spurs' social media account wasn't the one involved in this savage roasting of the Suns prior to their matchup last night, but it was a Spurs reporter, which is more or less the same thing.
As just stated, the Spurs and Suns faced off last night in a game many thought the Spurs would win comfortably, even though the main core of San Antonio were sitting the game out. With guys like Parker, Manu, Kawhi and Gasol all not playing, the game was closer than expected, with SA only winning by a margin of three points, 104-101.
Despite the narrow victory, Spurs fans were confident they'd blow out Phoenix, and this group included Spurs reporter Jeff McDonald, who managed to take a huge shot at the Suns while informing us that San Antonio would be playing without their key pieces.
I know the word "savage" is overused nowdays, but this tweet could very well be put next to the definition of it in the dictionary.
It's not every day you find the opportunity to sneak it a jab at an opposing team like Jeff did when reporting on simple player lineups, but he saw the window and he jumped right through it.
