Report: Recent Clippers Signee Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges

Former Miami Heat center and the Los Angeles Clippers newest signing, Wille Reed, was arrested early Sunday morning due to a domestic violence charge, According to the Miami Herald.

"Former Miami Heat backup center Willie Reed was jailed early Sunday on a domestic-violence charge.

Miami-Dade jail records show Reed, 27, who signed with the Los Angeles Clippers last month, was still in jail as on 7:30 a.m. He was charged with misdemeanor battery."

Reed was taken into custody in Miami at 3.06am on Sunday morning on a bond of $1,500. He remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center until 11 am.

It's unclear what the crime actually entailed, and who the victim was, as no details were released by Miami police after his arrest. It can be assumed though that the victim is Reed's wife, Jasmine. The couple also share two children, Nate, three, and Nicholas, one.

Willie and Jasmine, who have been married for two years, had apparently just returned from a wedding in Las Vegas before Reed was arrested.

Reed played 71 games with the Heat last season and 39 with the Nets the year before. His new deal with the Clippers is a one-year contract, worth a reported $1.5 million.
