When Magic Johnson took over as President of Basketball Operations, it came under the assumption he was ready to turn the team around. And although that assumption came under the pre-tenses of a rebuild, everyone knew Magic meant business.
And what better way to turn things around than acquiring the best player on planet earth?
LeBron James left Cleveland once, who's to say he won't do it again... especially under the current circumstances? If he does leave, the Lakers are rumored to be one of his most likely destinations.
But now, we're apparently supposed to question whether the Lakeshow even wants him in the first place. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles has canceled their plans to pursue LeBron James this summer and subsequently wants their fans to stop expecting them to sign him. Instead, the Lakers are said to be planning for the 2019 free-agent class, where a number of high-quality superstars may be on the market.
Either way, it looks like LeBron to L.A. will not be happening this summer (and probably never). The question now: If not L.A., then where?
