As many already know, Dwight Howard doesn't have the best reputation.
On the Lakers, his relationship with Kobe and head coach Mike D'Antoni wilted. On the Rockets, he and James Harden never got along long enough to make it work.
Atlanta was supposed to be the place where he would turn his career around. But after he was traded, reports started surfacing of just how much the other players hated them there.
In a report by ESPN's Zach Lowe, Hawks players screamed in jubilation into their phones when they heard about the Dwight Howard trade.
"You ask why, and one account was that Dwight would give these speeches before the game about how everyone is playing hard, we want unity, we're going to... and then go out and play like a blah game where he demands post touches and doesn't rotate as hard as he could. And everyone is like, 'Why are you speaking in the locker room?' But that's all anecdotal. It's just crazy how these stories come out after every stop in his career."
History proved that Howard has his issues in the locker room. But these talks coming out of Atlanta really puts Howard's behavior into perspective.
The Hornets offer the big man a new opporotunity, but can he ever return to All-Star form?
