Being the NBA’s top draft pick will come with high expectations. Throughout the entire draft process, Fultz stayed relatively quiet. However, You can bet on the young star letting his play do the talking. Either way, count on Sixers fans expecting nothing short of greatness from their newest piece of the puzzle. It is truly amazing how well the 76ers rebuild is coming along. With the pick, Philadelphia may become just the second team in NBA history to have two number one picks make their pro debuts in the same season.

Standing at 6’4”, Fultz’s height and length make him a threat on both sides of the ball. In his lone season at Washington, he averaged 23.2 points along with 5.9 assists per game on 50.2% shooting. Impressive numbers across the board aside, Fultz’s greatest skill may be his incredible shot creation. Throughout his time in the NCAA, the 19-year-old was seemingly able to get his shot off whenever he wanted, with ease. This is a skill that should help him tremendously in the NBA. However, there are some things Markelle Fultz will have to continue to improve. In today’s day in age, three-point shooting is crucial. Although he is not a horrible three-point shooter, there is still time for Fultz to develop a consistent stroke from beyond the arc. Lastly, Fultz’s biggest area for improvement will be on the defensive end.

Nonetheless, the 76ers are getting an extremely good basketball player. Congratulations to Markelle Fultz along with his family on the tremendous achievement. For Fultz, the NBA chapter of his story begins this July during the NBA Summer League. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the 2017 NBA Draft!
