No matter how bad the Cleveland Cavaliers have looked this season, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who didn't truly believe they were still one of the best teams in the East. Most have them making the Finals again this year, while some even give them a chance to win the entire thing.
If you ask Paul Peirce, though, he seems to think they might not even get past the first round. Here's what he said on NBA Countdown, in regards to the upcoming post-season:
“The Philadelphia 76ers will defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs.”
To anyone that's been keeping up with pro-basketball lately, that's a pretty extreme take. While the Sixers are certainly a lot better than some of their history has shown, they are still a ways away from being a true title contender. And, obviously, beating "playoff LeBron" is no small task for anyone, especially for a relatively inexperienced playoff team.
But if any squad is going to shock the world this year, why not Philly? They've got the youth, they've got the talent, and they've certainly got the energy. After all, haven't bigger miracles happened?
