Talk about a punch in the gut.
Minnesota Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett will always be remembered as one of the best players in franchise history. Although he never won a Championship for the city, his achievements and accomplishments while donning a wolves jersey will never be undervalued.
Still, even with all that being true, he'd rather be remember as a Celtic. According to Brian Sampson of Fansided.com, Paul Pierce recently revealed that KG would rather his jersey be retired by the Celtics than the T-Wolves.
[Garnett would] rather have his jersey retired in Boston than in Minnesota. He’ll eventually have his number retired with the Timberwolves, too, but he’ll have to wait until management sells the team.
For Minny fans, that's got to feel like a sucker punch. Garnett has been the lone bright spot for the Wolves since basically all their existence (with a few exceptions of course). While they'll still get the satisfaction of having his number in the rafters one day, it'll have to wait until after Boston gets their moment.
