As far as young talent goes, the Lakers and Sixers have some of the best in the league.
Between Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid, both Philadelphia and Los Angeles are stacked with hope for the future. Already, those young studs have begun to change their teams for good.
As a result of their similar talents, a mini-rivalry has brewed between the two infamous franchises. And today, NBC Philly took a shot at Lonzo Ball that may be the most damaging one yet.
In an Instagram post at around 1:00 PM NYK time, here's what was sent out:
Facts hurt sometimes, don't they?
It's no secret that Lonzo has been shooting terribly to start the season. But the fact that Simmons could miss his next 110 shots and still retain a higher field goal percentage than Lonzo really speaks volumes to just how bad his shooting struggles are. For some perspective, Ball is scoring 9.5 PPG on 31% shooting, while Simmons is averaging 17.8 PPG on 49% shooting. Pretty glaring differences for two players thrust into the early spotlight.
At least for now, it looks like the Sixers are winning the Lonzo/Simmons debate, and they're not afraid to show it. They have something special in Ben Simmons, and they want the world to know it. Just look at who they tagged in the picture...
