You know your having a bad season when your biggest storyline involves infighting in the locker room.
It sounds like some fantasy soap opera, but for the Chicago Bulls, it has been their brutal reality for the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
Some in-practice trash between Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis turned into an all-out brawl, and things have failed to get any better, even weeks after the original incident happened. Mirotic has ultimately given the Bulls an ultimatum: him or me. He is done trying to play with Portis.
The Bulls front-office made their choice, electing to accept Portis' contract extension, keeping him on the team through at least next year. And, unfortunately for Mirotic, the players have chosen their side as well.
The ultimatum made by Niko didn't sit too well with the players, with one teammate even saying, "This is Niko’s problem now.’’
Opinions flew even lower for Mirotic after he ignored an apology attempt by Portis, basically severing relationships in the locker room. Things have gotten to an all-time low for Chicago and this latest scandal proves that very thing.
