There are many debates in the NBA, who is better Kobe or LeBron, Duncan or Malone, Shaq or Hakeem etc, but everyone agrees that the best player that played in the NBA is Michael Jordan. He was so good on both ends of the floor, he was an idol of many kids that later played basketball because of him.
"There's only one Michael Jordan." - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
"There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us." - Magic Johnson
He set many records, not many as Wilt, that won't be broken soon. He scored 63 points against the Boston Celtics in 1986 in Eastern Conference First Round and that's the best single game scoring in the NBA Playoffs. He was hot that night, but despite that Bulls lost to the Celtics who won the NBA Championship that year. Bird, McHale, Parish, Ainge were better than Jordan and later in the Finals than Hakeem and Sampson. Jordan averaged 43.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in that series against the Celtics. He told the world that he is going to mark an era in the NBA.
In 1992-1993 season, MJ averaged 32.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.8 steals, but he hasn't won MVP that season. Charles Barkley was MVP because he led Suns to the 1st seed in Western Conference and averaged 25.6 points and 12.2 rebounds through Regular Season. The stage was set for great Finals. And that happened.
Six competitive games between these two teams. Game 3 had 3OT. They were so close and Chicago won this very exciting clash against the Suns and MJ won 3rd straight Finals MVP and the Bulls won 3rd straight NBA Championship. Also, Michael averaged 41 points during a six-games series, which is outstanding. Also, this series will be remembered by John Paxson's game-winning three in Game 6.
"Here's Paxson for three! YES! The Bulls take a one-point lead and Phoenix calls for time with three and nine-tenths seconds remaining in the fourth quarter! John Paxson converts a three-pointer. It's Chicago, 99 and Phoenix, 98." - Marv Albert, NBC commentator
