If you are looking for some exciting duels in the 2000s, this is one you must watch! On November 19, 2005, Cleveland came to Philadelphia to play against 76ers. Cleveland was led by LeBron James, 1st pick from 2003 NBA Draft and in that time future MVP of the NBA! They came to the arena where Allen Iverson, Chris Webber, Kyle Korver and Andre Iguodala waited for them.
They presented us a great clash between these two teams. LeBron achieved TD with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Allen Iverson dropped 37 points and added 12 assists. Besides LeBron, Larry Hughes scored 37 points and they led Cavs to win. In the losing team, Chris Webber scored 26 points, Iguodala 17 and Korver 13 points.
2005/2006 NBA Season was one of the best for both of these NBA Superstars. LeBron averaged 31.4 points , 7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. He played 42.5 minutes per game, which was the most minutes he spent in one season. Allen Iverson, Rookie of the Year in 1997, MVP in 2001 and 4-time scoring champion in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, averaged 33 points per game, but he missed 10 games and was overpassed by Kobe Bryant as NBA scoring champion in 2006.
Allen Iverson was one of the most vicious playmakers that ever played. He was impossible to guard, unstoppable and the player who played so easy that whole NBA was amazed by his dribbling skills. His play was breathtaking, which can't be said for LeBron and his style of play, but LeBron is one of the best players that ever played, maybe the best. He will play for 7 or 8 more seasons and still have time to prove himself as GOAT.
