When LeBron James is even somewhat on the table, you've got to make an effort to get him.
For the New York Knicks, they definitely took their chance after a huge billboard appeared over the city, urging LBJ to come and "prove" he is the King of New York. No doubt they took their shot there, even if the Knicks themselves has no direct involvement.
In response, though, the King gave no hints that the billboard did anything to sway his upcoming decision one way or another.
“Same reaction that I had to every last one of them this year. I think it’s very humbling that cities and organizations want me to play for them, especially at this juncture in my career. So, that’s it.”
Sadly, the Knicks are still probably pretty far down LeBron's list of landing spots this summer. But as one of the few teams with at least some chance, they'd be crazy to not at least try to bring him to town.
