Welp, there goes your chance rook.
The Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly looking to sign rookie Jamil Wilson earlier this week, as the small forward had been cut from cross-town rival the Los Angeles Clippers. Even though it was only going to be a 10-day contract, it was a good opportunity for Wilson to try and solidify himself as a reliable bench member.
Wilson can kiss his opportunity goodbye, however, after the Lakers learned on Wednesday that Wilson was being sued for sexual battery and fraud by a former lover of his who claims the small forward knowingly transmitted an STD to her without her knowledge. Of course, after learning this, the Lakers immediately pulled the offer from the table.
This comes as a major blow to Wilson's early career, as his time in a Clippers uni was a productive one.
Jamil started in 10 of 15 games for the Clips with Danilo Gallinari out with an injury, averaging 7.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in over 18 minutes of court time a game.
With these claims hanging over his head though, it may be a while before Wilson finds another place to play professional basketball, and it's a real possibility he never returns to the league if he's found guilty.
