The true definition of an "athlete" isn't necessarily based on who jumps the highest or can dunk the hardest. Technically, an athlete can be anyone who performs at an elite level.
If you ask most fans though, they tend to think that basketball athleticism only comes in the form of dunks and jumps. Often, people mistake shooting and scoring from the outside as softer.
For Phoenix Suns rookie Josh Jackson, he either made that mistake or wants to start a war with " target="_blank" rel="noopener">Steph Curry.
And for his sake, let's hope it's the former.
In a video with Vice Sports, the Phoenix rookie was asked to pick a player that least reflected his game, to which Jackson chose Steph Curry, the two-time MVP winner and two-time NBA Champion.
"Player that I compare least to—probably Steph Curry. Just because, you know, he's known as a shooter. I'm not. He's small and unathletic."
Usually, a player knows better than to say that kind of thing out loud, especially if it's untrue.
For Jackson though, he'll have to learn the hard way, as most youngsters do. Since his quote went viral, the internet has not been shy about calling him out on the minor blunder. Even that could be nothing when Steph see's him during their matchup on February 4th.
