There's no doubting that Philadelphia 76ers' center Joel Embiid has been a stud ever since he stepped foot onto the hardwood for the 76ers, even if it did take him over a year to do so.

Even if injuries are a huge concern for the young big man, it's safe to assume Embiid will be a multiple-time All-Star over the course of his career, and maybe even an MVP down the line, as the man from Cameroon has proven he can do it all on the court in only a short amount of time.

Joel Embiid knows this as well, and when he was asked by Caron Butler on NBATV who he thought was the best big man -- read: power forward or center -- in the game of basketball, Embiid nominated himself, to no one's surprise.

Even if his response elicited some laughs from the NBATV panel, the man was dead serious. And because he was serious, we have to ask, what is Joel smoking in Philly?

Sure, Embiid is among the top centers in the league today, but with only 50 total games under his belt for his career, there is no way he can be the number one big man in the NBA -- yet.

Players such as DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, and arguably Karl-Anthony Towns and DeAndre Jordan are all better -- as of right now -- than Embiid, and have the history to prove it.

Joel will probably overtake every single one of those guys and hold the title of the best big man in basketball in the very near future, but that may not be the case if Embiid's head gets a little too inflated.
