The 76ers and their leader, Joel Embiid, are in quite a good situation right now. Loaded with young talent, the team will be a threat for years to come, especially with Ben Simmons there to smooth things over. And being well within the playoff picture, they are already starting to show signs of improvement.
How much better would things be, though, if someone came to them for a change?
It's been a while since a superstar free-agent has come to join the Sixers, that's been no secret. But during this year's NBA All-Star game, Joel Embiid was looking to change that.
According to Giannis Antetokoumpo, Embiid suggested he join Philly:
"He told me I should trust the process and come play for Philly," Antetokounmpo said with a chuckle, drawing a laugh. "That was my reaction — I just laughed.”
Just laughed huh? Even if Giannis is dead set on staying home for a few years, who's to say the 76ers aren't at least on his mind? With a strong roster now and a good standing for the future, it's fair to say just about everyone has them on their mind right now.
