J.R. Smith Latest Comments On Kyrie Irving Are Certifiably Insane

Even though the way Kyrie Irving left the Cleveland Cavaliers was less than perfect, requesting a trade and citing a change of direction in his personal goals as his reason for wanting out, there's still some love from the Cleveland camp for the point guard.

Cavs shooting guard J.R. Smith sat down with teammates Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson -- before he was traded -- on the Road Trippin' Podcast, and was asked about his thoughts on Irving.

Despite everything that had happened for Kyrie to leave Cleveland, Smith had high praise for Uncle Drew.

This is an insane compliment for a player of Kyrie's age, considering the fact that J.R. has spent his fair share of time playing alongside the game's greatest players offensive-wise.

Over the course of his career, Smith has played with Chris Paul in New Orleans, Carmelo Anthony in both Denver and New York, and of course LeBron James in Cleveland, but J.R. still considers Kyrie Irving as the best out of the lot.

That's not even half of it though, as Smith said Kyrie was the best offensive player he's ever seen, not just played with, so on top of Paul, Melo, and LeBron, J.R. could also be including the likes of Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady and even Michael Jordan in his statement.

It's nice to see that not every Cavaliers player has a grudge against Kyrie after leaving, but you can rest assured knowing that Smith and the rest of the Cavs will be locked in come Opening Night against the Celtics on October 17th.
