For the sake of time, let's not go through the whole "I.T. traded to Cavs" thing. Instead, just remember that Isaiah Thomas had a stellar career as a Celtic until he was ultimately traded over the summer. And while the trade caused quite a bit of drama between both sides, the team was going to honor I.T. with a special video tribute next time he rolled into Boston.
There's only one problem: the next time Isaiah comes to the Garden happens to fall on Paul Pierce's jersey retirement night, which a lot of folks were not too thrilled about.
In light of the controversy and criticism of the timing, Thomas ultimately conceded to the public, calling off his small video tribute, which he announced via Twitter:
It's not yet known if the C's will offer up a tribute next year for their former star, or if they'll just drop the whole thing all together. Regardless, though, the whole thing really shows just how sensitive people have become to the whole situation.
