Regarding the most influential players in NBA History, Golden State's Stephen Curry has to rank near the top. Being widely regarded as the best shooter ever, his legendary shot has revolutionized basketball forever.
According to the Five Thirty Eight, LeBron James may be the new Steph, would you believe me?
The 3-pointer from way deep is the trademark of Curry, and yet (somehow) it’s James whose precision from behind the arc is on pace to break records. According to Basketball-Reference.com, James has made 52.3 percent of his shots from 28 feet or farther from the basket. That’s not only the best this season among players who have taken at least 15 of those shots, but it is also the best anyone has shot from that far since the 2000-01 season.
In other words, LeBron James is shooting better than we've really ever seen before. And while Curry is still the hands-down best at putting that ball through the hoop, King James is certainly perfecting that craft for himself.
