The Kardashian curse may be worse than we all thought.
At first glance, most people may not even know who Rashad McCants is. But for the former 14th overall pick, he believes he could have been a 60-70 million dollar player.
During his best years in the league, he showed real promise as a young guy on the rise. He averaged 14.9 points per game during his best season and was loaded with potential. After just three and a half season, the Timberwolves traded him to Sacramento, where he only lasted the rest of that season. He never got back into the NBA after that, even after multiple comeback stints in the D-League.
Interestingly enough though, McCants has one very big regret that he says held him back from being a true star. That regret was Khloe Kardashian. McCants claims that his highly publicized relationship with Khloe Kardashian gave people a window to doubt his commitment to the NBA.
McCants said that "Without that situation in play, I'm a $60-70 million player, easily."
If he hadn't been dating Khloe, Rashad firmly believes he could have been a 60 million dollar player, because his relationship labeled him as a joke in the NBA community. After his rookie contract, not one other team dared to take a chance on McCants, which certainly draws more than a few eyebrows.
Whether or not that's an accurate representation of the situation, it does make you scratch your head and wonder what could have been. Is there something about dating a Kardashian that makes success in the NBA harder, or is McCants just grumpy about his disappointing NBA career?
