If I had told you back in 2015 that Miami Heat Dwyane Wade would be on his third team 2 years from now, you would have called me an idiot, and rightfully so.
But, here we are, at the back end of 2017, and Wade is officially a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, linking back up with long-time friend LeBron James after a whirlwind offseason.
"He texted me to just take my temperature a little bit..." Wade said. "Then he hit me again later, like, 'I don't know what you're gonna do. I don't know where your mind is right now, but if something happens in Chicago and you guys decide to part ways, I want you to really consider coming to Cleveland.'"
Wade added on the end that he and LeBron discussed a move to Cleveland "around the time we worked out in L.A."
D-Wade later told reporters on Thursday that "It's like peanut butter and jelly, man, they just go together." when asked about being on the same team as LeBron, showing that the shooting guard didn't need a lot of convincing.
With Wade now on the Cavs roster, it gives Cleveland another All-Star caliber player, alongside the likes of James, Kevin Love, and Isaiah Thomas, to help compete against the behemoth that is Golden State when the two inevitably meet in the Finals for a fourth-straight year if everything goes to plan.
