With most of the prime free agents already signed, Dion Waiters was one of the few still remaining.
After a successful season with Miami, he had the summer to contemplate where he should go next. Reports indicate that Waiters was deciding between the Lakers, Knicks, and Heat.
In the end, Waiters eventually chose to re-sign with the Miami Heat for 4 years, $52 million. After the Heat missed out on Hayward, Millsap, and other big names this summer, re-signing a fan favorite seemed like a no brainer.
Miami could be primed for a playoff appearance next year, with Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic leading the way. Dion can help become a major part of that, as he was a big reason why the team improved so much last season.
