Dunks are one of the fan’s most favorite parts of the game, with even the team’s bench getting on their feet to clap and encourage their teammates following an emphatic poster dunk or great finish after a breakaway.
Nonetheless, some unathletic players, or just guys that don’t have enough hops, make a living out of providing other stuff for their teams, regardless of if it's their defense, their passing or they shooting.
We all remember Vince Carter and Dominique Wilkins for being incredible dunkers, as well as we’re always waiting for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Zach LaVine or Russell Westbrook to finish every play with a poster dunk.
But, there are some other players that we’re just not desperate to see finish, as we know they’re not going to do anything flashy to entertain the fans. Today, we’re going to let you know about 10 players that have never dunked in a single game since 2000.
10. Eddie House - 6’1 - 2078 FGs, 717 Games without a dunk
Eddie House is an NBA Champion more known for being a role player and having a lot of bad blood with Rafer Alston than his athletic gifts, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the 6’1 point guard.
9. DJ Augustin - 6 feet - 2113 FGs, 688 Games without a dunk
DJ Augustin has made a living in the Association out of being an instant offense kind of point guard off the bench, and the journeyman has been always quite a good shooter but has always lacked hops.
8. JJ Barea - 6 feet - 2473 FGs, 739 Games without a dunk
If you take a look at JJ Barea, he wouldn’t strike you as an NBA player. As a matter of fact, John Wall has even called him a midget. Still, Barea has always managed to find a way to score big time.
7. Chucky Atkins - 5’11 - 2479 FGs, 696 Games without a dunk
This combo guard spent 11 seasons in the Association and played for 9 different teams, averaging under 10 points off the bench, so you know he just didn’t had much to offer, not even an occasional dunk to impress fans.
6. David Wesley - 6’1 - 2563 FGs, 469 Games without a dunk
Wesley was terrific for the Charlotte Hornets in the early 2000’s as one of their primary ball handlers and scorers, he had a few great seasons but he never dunks in a single game.
5. Beno Udrih - 6’3 - 2740 FGs, 831 Games without a dunk
Beno Udrih is one of the less athletic point guards that have been through the league over the last decade. Slow and not quite gifted on the offensive end of the floor beside passing, he didn’t even try to jump to dunk the ball.
4. Isaiah Thomas - 5’9 - 2752 FGs, 446 Games without a dunk
Isaiah Thomas is the shortest player in the NBA right now and after he had a great season with the Boston Celtics, he's playing right now for the Los Angeles Lakers. Yeah, he never dunked in a single game, but maybe we can see a dunk in the future.
3. Luke Ridnour - 6’2 - 2933 FGs, 830 Games without a dunk
Luke Ridnour was a very good shooter and playmaker off the bench, but he was yet another unathletic player and he never dunked in an official NBA game.
2. Sam Cassell - 6’3 - 3916 FGs, 490 Games without a dunk
Sam Cassell was one of the smartest and most versatile scorers in the league, although his career pretty much stalled after a couple of years. Still, the lack of dunking skills never stopped him from lighting it up.
1. Steve Nash - 6’3 - 6431 FGs, 980 Games without a dunk
Steve Nash is one of the best point guards in the history of the game but let’s face facts, he was extremely smart but unathletic. Still, his perfect shooting will grant him a spot in the Hall of Fame for sure, being a 2 time MVP and a member of the 50-40-90 club despite not being able to dunk.
