Top 5 Players That Want To Join LeBron James Just To Destroy The Golden State Warriors

Fadeaway World

After an exciting NBA Finals where we saw the Golden State Warriors be crowned the 2017 NBA Champions, we’re already hearing about how the Cleveland Cavaliers must add more pieces to their roster in order to beat the Golden State Warriors next year.

Golden State had an amazing season after adding former MVP - Kevin Durant to their roster during the offseason. The Warriors finished the regular season first overall in the Western Conference with a record of 67W-15L before going 16-1 in the NBA Playoffs where they beat Cleveland in the Finals in an entertaining 5-game series! The Warriors really looked unstoppable this year and it's looking like this could be just the beginning of the Warriors dominance in the NBA.

Below is a list of five players who could help the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors.

Note: This list is completely hypothetical and just for fun. Most likely, none of the following players will end up playing for Cleveland next year except one of them. Ok, two of them. Three of them. All of them.

DeMarcus Cousins

It’s no surprise that DeMarcus Cousins would love to beat the Golden State ‘Superteam’ and who better to do it with than LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers? Cousins would be a massive help to Cleveland in the rivalry against the Warriors and could really help the Cavs turn the tide and beat Golden State next year. Keep in mind that DeMarcus Cousins is already regarded as the best big man in the league. If you add him with the best player in the game LeBron James, and a superstar Kyrie Irving, the rest of the NBA is in trouble.

Dwyane Wade

Possibly LeBron’s best friend, Wade and James have a history together which includes the two rings the pair helped Miami win during their playing days together. LeBron has openly admitted to the NBA world that he hopes to play together with Wade in the future once again and he would even take a pay cut for this to happen. If Wade joined forces with James once again in Cleveland he could be a major help in the Cavaliers future battles against the Golden State Warriors.

Anthony Davis

AD and the Pelicans just aren’t good enough to beat the Golden State Warriors. However, Anthony Davis and the Cleveland Cavaliers could bring a big challenge to the Warriors. The Brow would be a great addition in Cleveland and would be able to play either the power forward or center spot for the Cavs. A big three of Kyrie Irving, LeBron and Davis would be formed and it would be scary to think what the Cavs could do with a trio like that.

Chris Paul

Year after year, Chris Paul and Steph Curry’s ‘rivalry’ seems to grow. In the past few NBA seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers and Paul can’t seem to overcome the Warriors and it’s now looking like Paul is ready to move on from L.A as is Blake Griffin. Both LeBron and Chris are very good friends and holiday together occasionally during the offseason so the two would be a great pairing in Cleveland. I really think the addition of Paul would also help Cleveland overcome the might of the Golden State Warriors. If they move Kyrie Irving at the shooting guard, they can even play with Chris Paul on the court. Imagine pick and roll with Chris Paul and LeBron James? You can't defend that at all.

Russell Westbrook

After being left alone in Oklahoma, Westbrook has unfinished business with both Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors. ‘The Brodie’ would be a great fit with the Cavs if he were to go there and we all know he'd love nothing more than to face the Warriors in the NBA Finals. It's even hard to imagine two biggest forces playing together on the court, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.

Let's just say a combo of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and co. would put up a very tough challenge to the Golden State Warriors!

The question is… who will the Cavs add in the offseason in order to strengthen their roster and come back stronger than ever in order to contend once again against the might of Golden State?
