Fadeaway World

If you’re a basketball fan, you must be sick and tired of that nonsense and never ending a debate about if LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan, or who would beat the other playing one on one.

And, over the last couple of years, we’ve heard a lot of people talk nonstop about what would happen if Michael and LeBron ever face, constantly making up silly facts to try and make one of both guys look better than the other.

Today, we’re actually going to contribute to that never ending debate, trying to figure out not only who’d win on a one on one matchup, but also trying to imagine who would fare better on a friendly series as coaches this very offseason, with LeBron playing as a coach player and Jordan coaching some of the league’s current stars.

First of all, we must introduce both teams.

Team LeBron James:

Starters: Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins

Bench: Isaiah Thomas, Paul George, Andrew Wiggins, Kevin Love, Karl-Anthony Towns.

Team Michael Jordan:

Starters Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis.

Bench: John Wall, Jimmy Butler, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Blake Griffin, Hassan Whiteside.

So, let’s get to it.

Game 1: Team Jordan 104-89 Team LeBron

The series didn’t start as most people believed, since Team Jordan dominated the whole game from the jump ball making all their shots, passing the ball properly and playing suffocating defense. In this game James Harden led team Jordan with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists while Chris Paul put 25 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals, leading his squad but falling short of the victory.

After the game, both Michael Jordan and LeBron James had some words to the press. While MJ had very good things to say about his team, James showed his discontent with the performance of the team tonight.

Game 2: Team Jordan 93-91 Team LeBron

Team LeBron almost won the second game of the series, but after Carmelo Anthony missed the last shot, they fell against team Jordan and now are down 2-0. Gladly for them, they will play now at home, where both fans and players expect to have a great run and overcome this situation.

Kevin Durant was the scoring leader of Team Jordan in this second game with 24 points, 8 boards and 5 dimes, while LeBron James took the leadership of his team, but his 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists were not enough to beat Jordan and his squad. Now they’re ready to take their game to the next level.

Game 3: Team Jordan 102-103 Team LeBron (OT)

This third game showed us the best performance from Team LeBron so far and all the good things Team Jordan showed during the first two games as well, making it one of the series’ most exciting matchups, with Paul George and Isaiah Thomas becoming the heroes for Team LeBron and carrying the team in overtime to win their first of the series.

LeBron James finished the game with 30 points again, 4 rebounds and 9 assists, while Russell Westbrook got 23 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds, taking the lead of his team. Now we hope game 4 to bring us more emotion and excitement than game 3 did.

Game 4: Team Jordan 95-90 Team LeBron

Team Jordan surprised the home club in game 4, after both Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler took the reins and defeated Team LeBron to increase their advantage in this series. Team Jordan is leading 3-1 and now James and his boys will have to put their maximum effort if they want to live another day.

Now they’re heading to Team Jordan’s house and that only seems to decrease their hopes of winning this series. Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler scored 27 points each, while Dwyane Wade led the way for LeBron with 32, and team LeBron is on the ropes right now in a must win situation.

Game 5: Team Jordan 102-112 Team LeBron

Team LeBron came running and gunning with LeBron James leading the way, showing the best of his game and giving the victory to his squad to put the series 3-2 and take it back home, expecting to take advantage of his court and take his team to the seventh and final game.

LeBron put 34 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in game 5, while Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant put 25 and 24 points respectively to help their team, but that wasn’t enough to contain the game’s best small forward.

Game 6: Team Jordan 94-97 Team LeBron

Team LeBron took advantage of playing in front of its crowd and beat Team Jordan to tie the series and take this to a seventh game. Although Chris Paul was the scoring leader, the King created and distributed the game in a perfect way and that’s why they were able to take the W this game 6.

Chris Paul put 28 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists while James Harden put 24 points and 4 assists. Now we are going to watch the last game of the series, the game that will define the champion and who is the best between Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Both teams looked ready to take the victory and the trophy but it was until the very last play of the game that we knew the name of the champion. Kevin Durant with a buzzer-beater after two overtimes gave the victory to his team. Michael Jordan showed his happiness in front of cameras saying that Team LeBron was a great rival that fought until the last second.

MJ also thanked KD for all the good things the player showed during the series and all his character at the time of taking the shot that gave the victory to Team Jordan. Meanwhile, LeBron James was disappointed for the way things turned out and how he lost the series in only a second, but he also said he was ready for revenge and congratulated Team Jordan for its victory.

Kevin Durant was named MVP after that buzzer-beater after also filling the stat sheets during the whole series.
