NBA Free Agency 2016: 4 destinations for Kevin Durant

Former MVP Kevin Durant will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Durant is playing in the league since 2007 but still never tasted a championship ring despite leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals 2012.

The duo - Durant and Westbrook can't even dominate the Western Conference despite having an impressive season together.

After he lost against Golden State Warriors 3-4 in the Western Conference Finals, we should ask a question - where is the best destination for Kevin Durant?

I will not add Oklahoma City Thunder, because, in my opinion, he will resign there. But, I will write about the best options besides Oklahoma Thunder.

Here's some possible destination for Kevin Durant if he leaves the Oklahoma City Thunder:

Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics team is a very impressive despite not having any superstar in their roster. Adding Durant to their team can really make Boston a championship team in the future.

Remember, the Boston Celtics have a 3rd pick (via Brooklyn Nets) and have a lot of cap space that can also sign free agent Al Horford in this coming summer.

With Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley, the Celtics have good backcourts, but we should wait for the NBA Draft and see the Celtic's decision.

They should select Buddy Hield or Dragan Bender, and that would be a very good first step for Kevin Durant.

Miami Heat

Wade is now growing older and Chris Bosh has blood clots in his lungs that can keep him not to play.

The signing of Durant can really help this team to reach their 4th championship in franchise history. With the addition of Durant this team can be championship caliber team instantly.

Miami needs a scoring specialist which they lacked this season.

With Goran Dragic, Hassan Whiteside, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, they can easily become a contender and they will probably be stronger enough to beat LeBron James in the Eastern Conference.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have a young set of quality players and young coach but they don't have a superstar that can carry them to the next level.

With D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and probably Brandon Ingram, they can attack Kevin Durant over the summer. If they can sign a good big man, Los Angeles Lakers will have one of the best rosters for the future.

The addition of Durant can make them a playoff team next season but I don't think they can win a championship in the span of 3 years. Durant wants a championship right now and I don't think he'll sign with Lakers.

Washington Wizards

Kevin Durant's former coach is the new head coach of the team right now (Scott Brooks) and this is the hometown of Durant.

I think that would really help to sign Durant to Washington. This team is a playoff bounded with John Wall, Bradley Beal, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat in their roster.

If this team have Durant next season, expect this team to have an instant championship contender. Washington really needs a scoring specialist which Durant can bring.

The reality is - Kevin Durant will not sign with them, because he has better options elsewhere.

The Conclusion

Obviously, Russell Westbrook is a great player, but he and Durant couldn't beat alone the Warriors. Russell is an individualist and Kevin Durant needs a right system if he wants to win a NBA title.

I don't believe that he will sign for Golden State Warriors or San Antonio Spurs, because he is the superstar and he wants to lead his franchise in the future.

Maybe the best option would be if he can play with Chris Paul in the future. But, is that a real option or not?
