LeBron James has been the best player in our league since he stepped into his prime. He has the type of talent, that comes around once in a generation. If you disagree with that, just take a second and think about this. What NBA player have you seen possess James unusual physical and athletic abilities? Remember that LeBron is 6'8, weighs 260, can jump out the gym, comes at you full speed like a brick wall because of how big and strong he is. Right now, LeBron James is 31 years old and fresh off his 3rd NBA Championship. However, he has 4 NBA finals losses on his resume. So, the question reminds, how many championships will LeBron James finish with when his career is all done and over with?
So, the question reminds, how many championships will LeBron James finish with, when his career is all done and over with?
The type of talent that LeBron has on his roster, gives him the ability to compete for a title for years and years to come. That's assuming if Cleveland continues to give LeBron the type of talent, he needs to continue his streak of consecutive trips to the NBA finals. LeBron is 31 years old and has shown no signs of slower down, he is a top MVP every single season literally. If there was a big weakness, it would be his declining jump shot. So, that's about all you could say about him negatively right now. Along with James greatness, Cleveland's roster is loaded with talent. Point guard Kyrie Irving is only 24 years old and considered a rising superstar if not yet. Cleveland has shooters in J.R smith, Mike Dunleavy Jr, James Jones, and Channing Frye. The big piece is Kevin Love because he struggles to find his groove at times, but he is capable of giving you 20 points and 10 rebounds a night. So yes, Kevin Love is still an All-Star in this league.
Cleveland remains the favorites in the East and will remain the favorites in the Eastern Conference for years to come. Assuming LeBron remains with the Cavs for the rest of his career, he could potentially make a trip to the finals for the next 4-5 seasons. That's assuming if Cleveland continues to keep pay their important pieces and stay healthy when playoff season arrives. Don't get me wrong, Cleveland will have some challenges in the Eastern Conference like the Celtics, Raptors, Knicks, and Pacers. All of those teams continue to make moves in free agency or trades just to beat Cleveland. Yet, the fact remains none of these teams have LeBron James and a sidekick like Kyrie Irving playing alongside him.
LeBron James vs. Golden State Warriors
The one team that LeBron should be worried about is the new Golden State Warriors. LeBron has a finals history with this team. During his first year in Cleveland, LeBron reached the finals against the Warriors but had no Kyrie Irving or Kevin Love due to injuries. So, Cleveland lost that series 4-2 giving LeBron his 4th NBA finals lost. Last season, LeBron reached the finals once again going up against the Warriors. This time LeBron had his teammates and ended up defeating the Warriors in 7 games. But, remember that it still took LeBron 7 games to finally beat them. Now going into the new season, LeBron and his team remained together, but the Warriors added a big piece in superstar Kevin Durant.
Golden State will have the greatest offense, maybe the game has ever seen. Also, The Warriors will now have 4 All-Star NBA players in their starting lineup. They have youth on their side, so they won't be going anywhere anytime soon. LeBron has never faced a team like this before and he's going to have to learn how to beat them to capture another championship or multiple championships.
The Warriors is the key to LeBron's championship quest. If he can figure out how to defeat Golden State, he could win another 3 or 4 championships and maybe even eclipse Jordan's 6th championships. However, if he can't figure out the Warriors then he could be finished because it's a fact that with their new constructed roster, they are going to win multiple championships for the next couple of years unless LeBron figures out how to beat them. Golden State might be unbeatable - it's just too many options offensively for them to choose from and remember all of them are 3 point shooters.
LeBron James could finish his career as the greatest player closest to Michael Jordan, he's that great. His team is also great, but if LeBron can't be successful against the Warriors for years to come, he might only win another championship at the most when it's all said and done.
