Check what teams from the Central Division have to change if they want to become stronger than now.
The Bulls are one the most underrated teams in the NBA that can actually make it far with players like Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade. The Bulls also have a good front court of Robin Lopez and Taj Gibson who always out rebound the opponents. Chicago ranks 2nd in Rebounds, and are as aggressive as you can get when it comes to grabbing the boards.
Their record can be better than it is if their bench can step up and start hitting threes. Chicago is near the bottom in 3 point shot made, which was a concern coming into the season. The Bulls need to get a 3 point specialist because this league is starting to become a 3 point league. If you cannot make the big shot, then it will be hard to win the big games. Their bench is near last in the league when it comes to PPG, and they to step up to take the heavy load off of Jimmy Butler. Chicago Bulls have streaky shooters on the bench, Nikola Mirotic and Doug Mcdermott but due to injuries, and lack of chemistry, both players not getting enough playing time. Bulls need to add a 3 point specialist on the bench, and trade Nikola Mirotic.
The NBA Champions seem like they're going to be attending their 3rd straight finals. Cleveland is annihilating their opponents night in and night out. In order for the Cavs to get back to the Finals again, they need to get a better rim protector. The Cavs don't have great rim protection so far, and it's something they'll need to have in order to keep the sharpness on defense that’s necessary to defend the title. As bad as Timofey Mozgov was last season, they miss his rim protection.
The Pistons are a solid team that could land the 7th or 8th seed this year. But in order for the Pistons to get better, they need to keep the turnovers down. As of right now, the Pistons are in front of the NBA leaderboard with turnovers. The Pistons need a great sixth man to come off the bench and light the box score up. They need a player like Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford, or Brandon Jennings to come off the bench and impact the game in a big way. If Detroit can address that bench scoring issue, then we will see a better Detroit team.
The Pacers are not playing up to the potential everyone believed they had. Indiana is playing average basketball, sitting at around a .500 record. The Pacers have the right pieces to compete against the best teams in the NBA, they just have players out of position. Myles Turner shouldn’t be the starting Center, he should be placed as a power forward. Another main problem for the Pacers is that they don’t have a good Center.
Not having a good big man is really starting to show, as they are 22nd in the NBA in rebounds. In order for the Pacers to be a competitive team again, they need to add a legit Center, and put Myles Turner as the starting PF. Lastly, Monta Ellis is not performing at a good level, and his stats are on a steady decline.
This is a team that will be on top in the East IF they can sign or trade for a top notch point guard. This is one of two of the things the Bucks are missing to be better. The second problem that the Bucks need to fix to be a good team is a true Center, because John Henson is not cutting it. If the Bucks were to get a top notch Point Guard and a decent big man, they will be one of the most competitive teams in the East.
