DeMarcus Cousins in Cleveland Cavaliers?

In the past few years , the NBA Free Agency wasn't very interesting, but it seems that this year everything came back. This year's FA was really crazy.

Dwyane Wade signed for Bulls, Kevin Durant signed for Warriors and Derrick Rose went to the Knicks. Who could expect that? D-Wade played entire careers with the Miami Heat, Kevin Durant was just one step from the NBA Finals, and Derrick Rose was the fan's favorite player and the superstar in Chicago.

They all decided to have a new chapter in their careers, and maybe DeMacus Cousins wants to have a fresh start, too.

NBA Free Agency is over and time for trading has come. Many rumors are going on these days, but the one could be really huge.

DeMarcus Cousins in Cleveland Cavaliers?

That trade includes DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert and Cleveland future draft picks. What is the situation and the possibility of this trade to happen? DeMarcus Cousins significantly improved in last season, averaging 26.9 points and 11.5 rebounds and shooting three-pointers 33%. Cousins is an elite center, All-Star and one of the best players in the league.

DeMarcus is very displeased in Sacramento Kings for a while and after six seasons maybe is time to say goodbye to the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento Kings drafted two big guys on Draft and this was Cousins reaction:

It's obvious that he isn't happy in Sacramento. But, despite he is an elite scorer and paint dominator he has shortcomings. The biggest one is his immaturity.

He had conflicts with George Karl, coach of the Kings in last season, with the refs, with teammates and also with the opponents. He is an excellent player for sure, but contenders for the title can't afford to depend on one player. And Cleveland seems to be a perfect place for Cousins?

LeBron James and Cavs veteran room will be a great environment to keep his emotions in check and to disallow him to make scenes on and off the court. This is a risk, but Cavs can deal with it.

Cousins will give Cleveland dominance in the paint against all teams in the NBA. Cousins can also shoot 3s, which allows Cavs to run a pick&pop offense with LeBron and Cousins. Tristan Thompson is a great rebounder and also a great defender, but his offensive skills are not remarkable.

On the other hand, DMC is an offensive beast. A machine. He can dunk, he can play in the low post, he can shoot from the distance. He can do everything. His numbers speak for itself. This is all great, but how Cleveland can afford Cousins?

The Cavs have a full salary cap and there is no space for DMC right now. But with a trade they can make a room. They plan to trade Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert and future draft picks in exchange for DeMarcus Cousins.

The Cavs will get rid of big Love's contract worth $21M and Iman's worth almost $10M next year. This will add space to get DeMarcus. Both sides will get benefits from this trade. DeMarcus will improve the Cleveland' dominance in the paint and their offense, as I said, and Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert will improve Kings.

Kevin Love came to Cleveland in 2014 from Minnesota Timberwolves. He came as an elite player with 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds in a 2013-2014 season. But the Cavs have struggled to find him a place in their offense and that led to dissatisfaction and some terrible performance in the playoff. He was scoreless and defense isn't his virtue.

Playing in the Kings, where he can be a first or second option in the offense will give him a confidence and also improve Kings play. Also, smaller expectations will have a great impact on his play. He can relax and play freely. This will help him to restore his old style. Iman Shumpert will be a great bench player. He can come in the game instead of Afflalo and play his role.

Sacramento Kings with the players like Gay, Afflalo, Love will definitely be a contender for the playoff, what is Kings management desire for the past 10 years.
