Cleveland Cavaliers: The NBA Champions 2016

Before Sunday night's stirring victory by the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, a Cleveland team had not won a major sports championship since December 27, 1964, when the Cleveland Browns won the NFL title. At that time:

LeBron James' mother was three years from being born.

The Cavs pulled off the impossible, becoming the first team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 NBA Finals deficit. They won Game 7 in Oakland on Sunday night, 93-89.

In an exciting back-and-forth game, the Cavs erased a 7-point deficit at halftime. LeBron James led the way with a triple-double - 27 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists. He was named the 2016 Finals' most valuable player.

"I'm home," he said on the court afterward. "This is what I came back for. It doesn't feel real right now."

Kyrie Irving added 26 points for the Cavaliers.

LeBron James proves once again that he is the best player in the world. After 1-3, he leads the Cavs at the Oracle Arena in Game 7 against Golden State Warriors.

"I'm happy to be a part of history," James said, then added, "I'm home. I'm home. ... I'm at a loss for words. This is unbelievable."

This NBA Championship could be a huge for his legacy. Now he has three NBA titles and who can stop him the next season after he beat the Warriors with 73-9 records?

What to said about Golden State Warriors?

"It hurts, man," Curry said. "I'm proud of every single guy that stepped foot on the floor for our team this year. ... Hopefully we'll have many more opportunities to fight for championships and be on this stage. This is what it's all about."

Green had 32 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists, but Curry has only 17 points and Klay Thompson only 14 points. The Splash Brothers have 12-36 field goal in the NBA Finals and the most important game in his careers so far.

LeBron James has only one message for his fans and Cleveland Cavaliers:

"CLEVELAND! This is for you!" James bellowed in his postgame interview before being announced as finals MVP.

If you are the Cavs fans, you waited more than 50 years for this moment.
