There has been a good number of Mormon NBA players in the past 20 years. Many of which were top draft picks. I decided to create my All-NBA Mormon Team.
PG - Jimmer Fredette
Jimmer Fredette led the 2010-2011 BYU Basketball Team to the Sweet Sixteen only to be defeated by the Florida Gators in overtime. Jimmer was picked 10th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. However, Jimmer has had a difficult time playing for any NBA team for an extended amount of time. In 2017 the Chinese Basketball Association named Jimmer their MVP.
SG - Danny Ainge
Danny Ainge was picked 31st overall in the 1981 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Ainge is a 2x NBA Champion as a player and a 1x NBA Champion as a General Manager. Ainge was also a 1x NBA All-Star.
SF - Jabari Parker
After spending 1 year at Duke University Jabari Parker was picked 2nd overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Jabari Parker has been praised as a rising superstar. However, Jabari Parker has suffered 2 torn ACL's in the same knee. He is expected to play in the 2017-2018 season.
PF - Tom Chambers
Tom Chambers was picked 8th overall in the 1981 NBA Draft by the then San Diego Clippers. Tom is a 4x NBA All-Star and was the 1987 NBA All-Star Game MVP. Tom is the only eligible HOF player with at least 20,000 career points.
C - Shawn Bradley
Shawn Bradley was picked 2nd overall in the 1993 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers but played most of his career as a Dallas Maverick. Shawn Bradley led the NBA in BPG during the 1997 season and was the NBA leader in total blocks in 2001. Shawn Bradley is often referred to as the "The Stormin' Mormon", in his Utah community.
The spacing on the team is rather good with Jimmer being a 39% 3PT shooter, Ainge 38%, Jabari at 34%, Chamber at 31%, and Bradley being reliable out to 20 feet. Parker and Chambers would put up 22-25 ppg each. Fredette, Ainge and Bradley are all capable of 12-16 ppg. Bradley is a phenomenal rim protector and an underrated facilitator. This team's weakness is obviously defense, mainly on the perimeter. However, they could outscore their opponents.
