When you think of pioneers, more specifically, NBA pioneers, not many names come to mind. Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, and LeBron James are pretty obvious names, but I am certain Los Angeles Clippers' power forward Blake Griffin isn't a name that would be mentioned alongside the previous legends.
The internet went into a frenzy Saturday, as it was revealed by Marc J. Spears that Clippers' employees wore a T-shirt depicting Griffin alongside actual pioneers such as Barrack Obama, Albert Einstein, and Muhammad Ali,
It's fair to say the Clippers organization were very happy Blake would be staying around after trading away point guard Chris Paul, re-signing the All-Star to a 5-year, $173 million deal.
Spears updated his original tweet with some context for the shirt.
Regardless of the reason, the shirt is ridiculous, and Twitter took full advantage of that.
LA better be hoping Griffin can have the same impact as the other legends on that T-Shirt if they want any chance of having a successful season without Chris Paul on the roster.
