Is the rivalry over?

It's no mystery that the relationship between Ray Allen and the rest of his old '08 Celtics squad hasn't exactly been the best. He hasn't been on particularly good terms with them, as was made prevalent by Allen's noticeable absence from Paul Pierce's jersey retirement ceremony.

Despite it all, however, it seems we may have overhyped the magnitude of the situation.

A few hours ago, Ray Allen sent out a pretty encouraging message to the fans in Boston, and to his former Celtics teammates. It was long, though out, and had quite a bit of emotional sentiment.

Allen and Pierce may not be the best of friends, but they shared something special together back in 2008 that nothing can take away. They know more than anyone how much a Championship means to a city, especially to the city of Boston.

If nothing else, this post proved that not everything is as bad as we make it out to be. Sometimes, the special moments in life are just to grand to let bitterness get in the way.
