Many fans were disappointed earlier this week when Isaiah Thomas, who has only recently returned from a hip injury that has sidelined him for the entirety of the 2017-18 NBA season thus far, didn't suit up against his former team the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
Everyone wanted to see IT go head-to-head against the player he was traded for in the offseason, Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately for us, we'll have to wait until February now to see the two squads face off again, but that doesn't mean Thomas was completely left out of proceedings between both teams.
In fact, Thomas got into some banter with one of his former teammates in Boston, swingman Jaylen Brown, over Instagram.
The two were extremely close during Jaylen Brown's rookie year last season, and it shows in their conversation over social media.
Jaylen has been rocking the flat-top haircut ever since he entered the league last season and has become somewhat of a trademark of his, sharing the haircut with very few other NBA players, notably Iman Shumpert.
Thomas took a playful jab at Brown's hairstyle, and Jaylen took one right back at IT, saying he'll cut his hair when the 5'9 point guard dunks over someone.
So to put it simply: Jaylen isn't cutting his hair anytime soon.
It's good to see Thomas hasn't broken any of the bonds he's formed with his former teammates back in Boston, but make no mistake, when the Cavs face off against the Celtics again in February, you can be sure these two will be giving it all they have.
