Well, the Spurs-Kawhi Leonard injury drama just got a whole lot more interesting, didn’t it?
After news broke that San Antonio’s All-Star forward had headed to New York to continue the rehab process on his injured right quad, even after being cleared by the Spurs medical staff, the story brought about further reports that show the relationship between Leonard and the Spurs could be beyond repair at this stage.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, “multiple teams” have already begun the process of forming offers to send to San Antonio to try and snag Leonard via trade.

With the way this season has gone for Kawhi, it’s not out of the question that he could be playing for a different franchise is the right offer is sent the Spurs way.
Leonard has only managed to play in nine games this season for San Antonio before voluntarily excluding himself from games, as he wasn’t 100% confident in his quad, even if the Spurs medical staff cleared him already, which raises questions about the amount of trust Kawhi has for San Antonio’s staff as a whole. Why would you trust the front office when you can’t even trust the medical team in the first place?
It may seem weird at this point, especially considering the franchise involved is the San Antonio Spurs of all teams, but we may have to start getting used to the idea of Kawhi Leonard in a color other than black and silver.
